Abstract

The main objective consists on presenting the factors which determine the dynamics of family businesses and their challenge with the internationalization. In relation to the method used in the article, it is descriptive and documental, using data bases as ProQuest and specialized bibliographic sources. In the results and the conclusions achieved, the family businesses use to grow slower, they require to professionalize their activities, the creation of management councils linking external staff to the family, the offspring succession preparation may guarantee the succeed in the generational transfer of the family; in relation to the internationalization, there is a great opportunity so that family businesses may achieve to extend their scope, access in new markets, increase incomes, diversify risk, carry out strategic alliances, get knowledge and technology transferences and take over the challenges of the internationalization.
