Peer Review Process

Articles are received through an open call to the national and international, regional and institutional academic community, setting a time limit for reception. The Editorial Board makes the first assessment of the articles and chooses those that can be subject to evaluation by two experts outside the institution, who have one month to issue their concept. The criteria evaluated are: the importance and relevance of the topic, originality, argumentation, utility, language used and conclusions. The evaluators issue their concept in a format provided by the Lebret Journal publisher. Once evaluated the article, the referees must choose between the following options: publishable without corrections; publishable form with corrections; publishable with background correction and non-publishable. In case of two divergent concepts, a third arbitrator to adjudicate the subject matter will be elected.

Lebret submits manuscripts, most of the time, to peer evaluators certified by COLCIENCIAS and in all cases it checks their intellectual production in order to establish their ability and experience to judge the document. The evaluation process is confidential (double-blind mode) and the comments of the articles are sent to the authors with relevant suggestions of the Editorial Board of the journal, when adjustments are recommended in the document.

The final decision to publish their articles corresponds to the Editorial Committee.
