Tooth bleaching with 940nm diode laser: A series cases presentation

Abstract

The era of aesthetic dentistry has conditioned to improve the appearance of the smile through techniques such as dental whitening with innovative methods to minimize dental sensitivity, enamel microhardness and gingival irritation such as the use of diode laser. The purpose of this work is to describe the therapeutic approach of dental whitening with 940 nm diode laser. Several cases of adult patients of both sexes are presented at the dental consultation, who attend due to dissatisfaction with the color of the teeth, a clinical examination is performed, color registration is taken using the VITA scale before and after the procedure, application of a protocol of dental whitening and activation with a 940 nm diode laser at different powers and in two sessions on the same day, finding as results color changes and absence of dental sensitivity after the treatment performed.
