Admission interviews: implementation and theoretical technical characteristics

Abstract

The following article exposes the results of the research “Initial diagnosis. The admission interview in monovalent institutions of the City of Córdoba “, project endorsed and funded by the of Science and Technology Secretary of the University of Córdoba, Argentina. A research team from the Chair of Psychological Interview of the UNC’s Faculty of Psychology investigated about the theoretical and technical characteristics of the implementation of the admission interviews in the aforementioned institutions, and specifically within the framework of the transformation of the care system into mental health, within the framework of the sanction and regulation of the National and Provincial Mental Health laws (Law N ° 26658 and Law N ° 9848). The main findings show: a diversity of manners of admission, a priority of socio-health profiling and the administration of resources, and a little reference to the theoretical and technical articulations that support the indications and interventions.

The inquiry is inspired by the Chair’s concern for the articulation between the knowledge imparted in the training of Psychology students and the demands and reality of the task they will face in their professional life, and vice versa: to investigate the diagnostic work conditions in the institutions and to be able to offer the theoretical articulations between the academic spaces and different actors of the society.
