Balance and opinion of the Colombian society about the materialization, usefulness and effectiveness of the Justice and Peace process and Law

This research approaches several major issues such as social context, processes of peace and justice, and legal sociology. These topics are addressed in consideration with the questions that the public opinion has raised about the evolution, application and compliance of the Law No. 975 of 2005, which contains provisions for the reintegration of members of organized armed groups outside the law who effectively contribute to achieving national peace and other provisions for humanitarian agreements. Furthermore, we observed that the topics addressed in this study became extremely relevant in numerous circles such as media, governments, the international community, and the general population. Additionally, considering the great debate that they have generated in the Colombian society, we conclude that these topics need to be addressed and studied properly. For all the reasons expressed above, we propose the analysis and evaluation of the social impact of the peace process and the Law 975 of 2005 using the survey as our main tool to accomplish our objec- tives. Therefore, we will focus on the citizen views about these topics. Additionally, we intend to study the current state of affair in the community through the different opinions and attitudes towards the questions proposed.
