Abstract

The Historical Center of the city of Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia has been configured in a context full of objects and referential landmarks with colonial, neoclassical and modern reminiscences that together constitute spatial data representative of our culture. We find buildings that have been declared Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC) of the Architectural Group at both the national, departmental and municipal levels, and that are part of the municipality's list. Identifying and inventorying Assets of Cultural Interest brings us closer to the reflection and appropriation of local culture in the generation of awareness, participation, commitment and identity as a way of recovering the memory of the city. The research used documentary methodology based on the review of documentary, bibliographic and newspaper sources. On the other hand, field work was proposed that was not viable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The information collected and analyzed was used to create an inventory of Assets of Cultural Interest, complying with the standards established by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia (MinCultura), which will contribute to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of Bucaramanga and its historical identity. and cultural.
