Historical Overview
The first issue of Revista M was published in January 2003 under the title "Globalization in Architecture", alluding to the Forum of the same name held by the Colombian Society of Architects (SAC) in May 2002 in the city of Bucaramanga. In this first issue, seven articles by renowned academics of the city were published, as well as the Manifesto of the Architects of Santander, a document that intended to establish the position of the professionals of the department in the face of the new policies presented that same year by the State for the regulation of the work of the profession. The magazine took the letter M for its title precisely in allusion to said Manifesto. And so it was that within the Colombian context the M Magazine was presented at that time as one of the few means of dissemination of research in architecture, urbanism and urban planning of the Colombian regions produced outside Bogotá.
Since its inception, Revista M has had a Scientific Committee and an Editorial Committee, both with extensive research experience both in the national and international academic field. The work of these committees is supported by the editorial team of the publication, which in turn receives the support of the Research Group of the Faculty of Architecture of the USTA Bucaramanga (GINVEARQUI), and together they are in charge of guaranteeing the transparency and quality of the published material.
