Abstract

Rapid technological changes, the environmental crisis, social inequality, and the dissolution of community ties have brought about new ethical dilemmas that demand to be understood through the lens of human complexity. This essayistic and reflective article aims to critically analyze these dilemmas from an interdisciplinary perspective that links ethics and economics. Based on documentary and argumentative analysis, the tensions between efficiency and justice, automation and dignity, and individualism and care are explored. The discussion draws on the ideas of Adela Cortina, Martha Nussbaum, and Byung-Chul Han, as well as on the critical proposals of contemporary economists such as Mariana Mazzucato and Daron Acemoglu. The main conclusion highlights the need to rethink development and collective life through an ethics of care, interdependence, and dignity.
